Ministry: Russian gold output rises by 2% to 39 tns in Jan–Feb
MOSCOW, Apr 14 (PRIME) -- Russia’s gold output rose by 2.1% on the year to 38.9 tonnes in January–February, the Finance Ministry said on Thursday citing supplies to the refining plants.
Mined gold output rose by 4.78% to 32.24 tonnes, while by-product gold output decreased by 6.43% to 2.62 tonnes and production of gold scrap fell 10.62% to 4.52 tonnes.
Russia’s silver output decreased by 13.4% to 127.65 tonnes in the month. Primary silver production fell by 16.26% to 67.16 tonnes and by-product silver output fell by 3.5% to 45.45 tonnes, while production of silver scrap shrank by 23.5% to 34.86 tonnes.
In 2021, Russia’s gold production increased by 1.84% to 246.42 tonnes and the output of silver fell 2.07% to 945.7 tonnes.
